Ten pages and ten shapes of evening. An hour at a hotel door. A table held for four. A night that runs to breakfast. A journey that leaves the zone altogether. The figures stay the same across all ten. What moves is how much has to be settled beforehand, and that is the entire subject of these pages.
Nothing here is sold as a package and nobody is priced above anybody else. Every name on On The Books can be asked for any of the ten, and each woman answers for herself. Where a page puts four or five names forward, it is because that evening is one they are known for, not because the rest of the list is shut.
The short ones
The hotel arrival is the plainest booking the desk takes: a room number, an hour, a knock. The girlfriend experience is a matter of manner rather than length, and several of the women here are booked for nothing else. The late night out begins when the restaurants have emptied, and in this part of London that is later than visitors expect.
The long ones
The dinner hours give four hours to one reservation and to the part afterwards that most people forget to book. The ten hour night runs from dinner to breakfast at £1,800 and buys the cheapest hour on the sheet. The long booking covers a run of evenings inside one stay, or a weekend written out against the dates you give.
When other people are at the table
The business evening is for the client dinner and the reception, arranged with names and a seating plan rather than with a mood. The duo evening brings two women who already know each other to one table. An evening for two guests is arranged only when both of you have written to the desk, never on one person's say so.
Past the boundary
The travel companion is the one booking that starts with a timetable instead of an hour. Heathrow, St Pancras, a country hotel, a week in another city: the shape is the same, and the cab beyond Zone 2 is named in both directions in the same message as the fee.
What all ten share
The ladder. An hour opens at £250 on every one of these pages and the seven lines run up to £1,800 on rates. Travelling inside Zones 1 and 2 is inside the figure already, whether she walks four minutes across Soho or crosses the river. Her fee is handed to her in person in the first minute she is through the door.
