The late twenties: fourteen women, and the half of the list that has settled
Half the list is on this page, which makes it the largest of the three decades and the one guests arrive at without meaning to. Twenty five to twenty nine is the stage where most of these women stopped experimenting with how they look and started dressing for the room they are walking into, which is a considerable upgrade and shows immediately.
It is also the stage that produces the best hosts. Five of the fourteen are the names the desk puts forward when somebody else is at the table and the evening matters.

The hosts
Michelle is the one to put in front of somebody you need to impress: she notices your glass before the waiter does and hands you the credit for the whole evening. Karolina has never made a guest miss a curtain. Samanta moves through a lobby as though she had drawn it. Patricia leaves early rather than arrive breathless. Liana gives you the first twenty minutes in near silence so that you can stop being at work.
That last one is the most underrated thing anybody on this page does and the thing guests mention most often afterwards.
Where they are, and how long they take
Five of the fourteen live inside their own district. Karolina and Tina are in Covent Garden, four and five minutes respectively from most WC2 hotels. Liana and Rosa both walk to their Marylebone bookings, and Samanta is a few streets from the Mayfair hotels. The rest come from Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Paddington, Belgravia and South Kensington, fifteen to thirty minutes at the hours that matter.
Central London and Bloomsbury between them hold the quieter evenings on this page. Danielle likes an hour among the Assyrian reliefs before dinner and Thea gives forty minutes to the seventeenth century first, and both of them then want somewhere small and unhurried four to six minutes away.
